KOOINDAH WATERS PROVE GREEN COMMITMENT

December 2nd 2009 -

Kooindah Waters Golf Club has demonstrated its dedication to a ‘greener’ green, taking out the Energy Efficiency and Club award categories in this year’s Central Coast Express Advocate Business Achiever Awards announced on Wednesday, November 25.

Awarded for its energy-saving initiatives, Kooindah Waters has implemented a variety of sustainable systems and was also recognised as the best registered Club in the region, beating local Sports Clubs, RSL's and Leagues Clubs.

Kooindah Waters director of golf Mark Ingrey said the club was extremely proud to be recognised for their energy efficient initiatives.

“From the early stages of planning, Kooindah Waters was designed to incorporate the site’s natural surrounds, and we have continued this commitment to sustainability by installing energy-efficient systems as well,” Mr Ingrey said.

“One of our key initiatives is the environmental management program E-par. This comprehensive program includes individual plans for numerous segments of the facility, including management of flora and fauna, habitat, turf, waste and water.

“Some of our most recent sustainable initiatives have included the replacement of petrol golf carts with new electric carts, the installation of tank systems and growth regulators to reduce the mowing needed at the facility.

“We are proud to be recognised for our commitment not only to the environment but to our members and guests through the Business Achiever Awards.

“We look forward to maintaining our position as the most energy-efficient local business and best local club in the years to come.”
