January 1st 2009 - Kooindah Waters Golf Club is looking forward to a busy year of operations in 2009 after wrapping up a successful 12 months at the Central Coast course.
The course, which was recently voted among the top 50 public access golf courses in Australia by golf industry bible the Golf Course Guide, hosted nearly 20,000 players during the year. Director of golf Mark Ingrey said it had been an exciting year, and 2009 was shaping up to be just as busy. “The club has hosted a range of events through the year, including 35 corporate golf days and 126 social groups,” he said. “We also launched some great membership packages this year which have been successful with 78 members on board already. “2009 promises to be another exciting year, with seven new golf tournaments in the works and a community fun day planned in May to celebrate the club’s third birthday.” The opening of the clubhouse, four-and-a-half star resort and endota spa earlier in year helped cement the club’s image as one of New South Wales premier golf destinations. Several new ambassadors to the club were also announced, including Wallaby and local boy Adam Ashley-Cooper, and golfer Krishna Singh. Central Coast local and Kooindah Waters ambassador Andre Stolz had success at the Australia Open in December placing sixth with 7 under. Kooindah Waters golfers shared in the year’s excitement, with several new records being set. Paul Day was Kooindah Water's 2008 Club Champion and Norm Fritter was not only the Nett winner of the 2008 club championship, but he also scored his second hole in one at the course – the sixth for the club in 2008. Ann Vince also set a record, becoming the first female to score a hole in one at Kooindah Waters. The club also did their bit to support local race tracks recovering from the recent Equine Influenza crisis, sponsoring three races at the Gosford and Wyong race clubs during May. Located on the stunning NSW Central Coast, within 90 minutes north of Sydney's CBD, Kooindah Waters is an 18-hole par 72 championship course designed by leading golf course architect Ross Watson with design input from Golf Professional Craig Parry. Kooindah Waters Residential Golf & Spa Resort is a development by Clarendon Residential Group, a part of Investa Property Group, a fully integrated property company and one of the largest unlisted owners of commercial property in Australia. Kooindah Waters Golf Club is managed by Troon Golf the recognised leader in prestige golf course management, development and marketing around the world. The company currently manages 200 golf courses in 32 countries including the USA, Scotland, Japan, Middle East, Mexico and the Bahamas. |
